Early May brings a certain joie de vivre to the flora and fauna of the Picos, characterised by warm days, colourful butterflies and spectacular spring floral displays of narcissi, gentians and orchids after the long winter. We can also expect to see a good selection of amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.

Join Teresa for a spring botanical tour of these fabulous limestone mountains, with a flora encompassing more than 1500 species of vascular plants. Flower-rich hay meadows, ancient forests and high-altitude rockgardens harbour orchids galore at this time of year, as well as many plants unique to Northern Spain.
